So we had a 4D scan at the weekend and saw our little boys face. It was SO surreal. I was a bit apprehensive going in, as I am with any scan - hoping and praying that everything is ok. I was desperate for Wolfie to be facing the right way as well - with the scan we booked they would accept us back 3 times in that day but if he wasn't in the right position that's it - money down the drain!
Having felt him move crazy amounts since Friday night I was ready to drink fizzy drinks, jump up and down and roll around to get him in the right position but as soon as the sonographer held the scanner against my belly, his face was right there looking right at us (always ready for the camera just like his mumma!).
Watching his little movements, his grimacing face, the squishy cheeks and pouty lips we fell head over heels in love with his little face. Watching my belly move and seeing his movements on the screen was so surreal. What felt like a huge kick was just him putting his hands up to his face, or having a little stretch. Such gentle movements yet they feel massive when I'm lying there at night trying to sleep!
As silly as this sounds, it reminded me that I have a little human. He is perfectly, fully formed, just putting on weight - he has facial features, a mini heart, tiny little fingers and toes - my little boy.
So. In. Love.
We may be quiet over the next few weeks. This weekend we move into our new home in Guildford and then I have two weeks left until my maternity starts..but once everything is settled I can show you all Wolfie's room, little outfits and our new home!
